Abraham Yarbrough, Sr. was born in a small community
in Winston County near Louisville, Mississippi on August 23, 1936.
He began his
education in a one room Methodist school at the age of four. He graduated from Higgins High School and attended Coahoma Junior
College and William Carey College. He completed 1400 hours in Cosmetology.
He also completed a nine-month aptitude civil service course.
Abraham Yarbrough was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and filled with the Holy Ghost on April 29, 1959. He
was called to the ministry in June of the same year. He was licensed in 1962 and ordained in 1971 by the Pentcostal Assemblies
of the World, Inc., http://pawinc.org . In 1986 he was elevated to District Elder; in 1998 he became a member of the International
Missions Board, and was later elevated to Suffragan Bishop in 1999. Bishop was consecrecrated in the Eastern Caribbean Council
of Nations District#36(ECCN). http://easternccn.org and appointed to Jurisdiction #2 of the U.S.and
British Virgin lslands. Bishop also served as Treasurer, Brotherhood Chairman. He also served 20 years as Credential
and Ordaination Chairman for Southern Tri-State & MS D C. Finally He received a Bachelor of
Biblical Studies from Logos Christian College, Inc., in Jacksonville, Florida and received a Doctor of Divinity
from Grace Apostolic College, Inc.
Sfgn.Bishop Yarbrough has pastored several churches: Christ Temple in Memphis,
TN; Lively Stone Apostolic Church, Vaden, MS; Holy Temple Apostolic Church, Shelby, MS; and presently Greater Trueway Apostolic
Church, Hattiesburg, MS.
Sfgn.Bishop has also established Manna from Heaven Ministries of Hattiesburg,
Bright Minds Daycare and Afterschool program, Fatherhood Initiative Program,and South Mississippi Development Corporation
and Associates (SMIDCAS). After the devastion of Hurricane Katrina,Sfgn.Bishop Yarbrough was inspired to establish The 'Joseph Katrina Distribution' (JKD) to help many families affected by
the terrible storm.
In December 1986,Sfgn. Bishop Yarbrough married the lovely Joyce Bourne. Evangelist
Joyce B. Yarbrough graduated from Rowan High School among the top ten in her class. She took office management
courses and worked as a secretary with Forrest County Schools for many years. Evangelist Yarbrough later became a
teller for Bellsouth telephone company and retired after 25 years of service.
First Lady Joyce Bourne Yarbrough loved children. She started out keeping
children in her den including Mitch Williams (WDAM Sports Director) and Purvis Short (NFL basketball star). Evangelist later
became the administrator of Bright Minds Daycare and Aftercare.
